Most likely the reason you are about to read this article is because you are considering hiring a house cleaner. Your busy lifestyle is probably making it difficult to maintain a clean home and cleaning is falling behind due to all the every day task of working, paying bills, helping with homework, and the thousand other things you need to do each day.
Finding a good house cleaner or cleaning company could be a challenging task. As for me, the most important objective is to find someone trustworthy. My home is my sanctuary and I don’t want to be concerned that the people/person I allow in my home is going to venture through my personals or take my valuables.
Are they dependable and are they respectful to you and your items?
One of the most common complaints I hear during an initial meeting with clients is the cleaners do not show up when they said they would. Prior to getting into the business I had a cleaner who called to tell me that it was too nice a day and she wanted to go to the park. Needless to say that was the last time we used her. Not that our home required cleaning but it was scheduled for that day and I was expecting to get it done. I had a cleaner who showed up at 5:30 when they were suppose to be done and gone before i got home at 5:00. I had visitors coming over at 6.00 and my home was not clean for my guest. Thank Got my home was not dirty but you only get one chance to make a good first impression and I always want to give a good first impression each and every time you visit my home.
Weekly or bi-weekly house cleaners are not magicians and your home does not automatically remain clean during their absence. It is the home owner responsible to maintain the appearance of their home during the cleaners absence. When they return, they are there to help make life easier by focusing on the areas that you never get or have the time to clean during the week. That being said, I’ve been to homes without a broom, mop or even a toilet brush. (LOL) They all had a toothbrush thought!
Stay tuned!

Do they have a business are or are they doing it on the side
- “Fly By Night” cleaners don’t usually have a business licence and will usually ask for cash payment. They, in my opinion are the most unreliable for many will work only when there finances are low.
- They will not have insurance to cover personal or property accidents, therefore leaving you responsible to recover your property loss or more expensive have you cover there medical bills.
